We are all more resilient and more able to handle life's stress when we are feeling our best both physically and emotionally. A massage, a hot bath, or another form of pampering revitalizes you inside and out. Taking the time to pamper yourself can have many benefits.  

Stress is now more prevalent in our lives, and we all know that stress is detrimental to our health. Yet, we seldom invest in taking the time to trigger a relaxation response in our bodies. Taking time for ourselves makes us feel good about our life and boosts our self-confidence. Even 10 minutes of self-pampering is better than none. 

Aromatherapy is a natural anti-stress remedy. Our sense of smell directly affects the part of your brain that regulates emotion. That’s why smells can trigger memories and can evoke feelings. Aromatherapy can help in reducing stress and anxiety to engage a general state of calm. Some of the best essential oils, to reduce stress, are; Lavender, Bergamot, Chamomile, Clary Sage, Jasmine, Lemon, Orange, Rose, Sandalwood, and Ylang Ylang. Essential oils are concentrated, so be sure to follow the recommendations when using them. But adding them to your bath water, diffusing them, or adding to an eye pillow or to your shower gel can be very relaxing.

A half-cup of Himalayan salt, in your bath water, would benefit as well. It helps to protect your energy but also strengthens and softens your skin. Even a 10 minutes bath, with Himalayan salt, can reduce fatigue, stress, and pain and increase feelings of contentment and emotional health.

Using a Himalayan salt lamp generates negative ions in the air, creating the type of calming effect many people experience on a saltwater beach.
