Ginger Rhodochrosite is the name given to the slightly translucent gemstone usually referred to as Rhodochrosite.  Rhodochrosite is found in the silver mines of Romania, the Banded Rhodochrosite in mined in Argentina and the USA. It is a manganese carbonate mineral of the Calcite group. Rarely transparent, usually opaque, raspberry pink to rose-red coloured gemstone with white bands, or lines. Rarely it can be found in the pink-red colour range, also yellowish, orange or brown. Often confused with Rhodonite, you can tell the difference between them as Rhodonite is a darker pink and usually contains black lines or specks. The Rhodochrosite is usually a lighter pink with white lines or specks.
