Larvikite Bracelet 4mm

Larvikite, also known as Black Labradorite, is a monzonite that belongs to the feldspar mineral group. It was first discovered in the Larvik region of Norway in the 1880s. Larvikite can also be found in other parts of the world, including Finland, Ukraine, India, America, and Canada. The stone is recognized for its characteristic silver-blue flash or sheen, caused by the presence of iridescent feldspar crystals.

Larvikite is a distinctive and attractive stone with a dark, often black, or gray background color. What sets it apart is the play of iridescent colors—typically silver-blue or metallic gray—created by the light reflecting off the mineral inclusions. This phenomenon is known as "schiller" or "labradorescence." Larvikite has a fine-grained texture and is composed mainly of feldspar, with additional minerals such as pyroxene and nepheline. In addition to its aesthetic appeal, Larvikite is valued for its metaphysical properties. It is believed to have protective and grounding qualities, helping to dispel negative energies and promote inner stability. Larvikite is used in various applications, including jewelry, carvings, and as a decorative stone in architecture and design.
