Also known as Chalcopyrite, Peacock Ore is a common ore of copper and is easily recognized because it tarnishes to iridescent shades of blue, purple, green and yellow earning its name, Peacock Ore is found in many parts of the world. The colours of the rainbow, that cover Peacock Ore, grow naturally, in a thin layer, when exposed to air. Break the crystal in half and you will discover that the inside is the colour of gold.
