Also known as Rare Pietersite and often called the Tempest Stone, Peitersite evokes a strong natural energy. The rich gold colour that is accented by blues, browns and greys of varying shade gives this gemstone the name of Tempest Stone, it reminds one of dark skies and thunderstorms. It was named by its discoverer, Sid Pieters, who found it in 1962, in Namibia, Africa. It was later also found in China, these are the only two sources for Pietersite.
Called the Tempest Stone due to its’ swirls of blues, white and black. One can easily imagine a storm brewing when gazing into a Pietersite. It has an almost three dimensional appearance that makes it a great gazing (divination) tool. Despite its’ looks, this is a very strong, yet gentle, gemstone that will charge other crystals and gemstones, cleanse the energy bodies of the Aura, and balance the Chakras.
The strongest property of Pietersite is divine energy. It is a high vibrating gemstone and is intimately connected to the spiritual energy of the divine realms. Many healers and psychics use the stone to enhance their natural gifts. It helps to open up a channel to the spirit world, also preventing fatigue as a result of energy work. Pietersite works on the Third Eye, it heightens intuition and enhances psychic abilities.
