Far Infrared Sauna Session
A far infrared sauna session involves using a sauna that emits far infrared waves to produce heat. Unlike traditional saunas that heat the air around you, far infrared saunas use infrared panels to directly warm your body. Our sauna has an adjustable lounge chair that is comfortable for one person, but can be used for 2 to 3 persons in a sitting positions. Here's what a typical far infrared sauna session might entail:
-
Before entering the sauna, it's advisable to hydrate well. You may also choose to shower to cleanse your skin.
- Most people prefer to be undressed or wear minimal clothing during a far infrared sauna session to allow better absorption of infrared rays. However, you should wear what makes you comfortable.
- Far infrared sauna sessions typically last between 20 to 45 minutes. It's essential to start with shorter sessions, especially if you are new to infrared saunas, and gradually increase the duration as your body becomes accustomed.
- The sauna is preheated, and the infrared panels are activated. The temperature in a far infrared sauna is usually lower than traditional saunas, ranging from 120°F to 150°F (49°C to 66°C).
- During the Session:Â Relax and enjoy the warmth. Many people use this time for meditation, reading, or simply unwinding. The infrared heat penetrates your skin, promoting sweating and an increased heart rate, similar to moderate exercise.
- It's crucial to stay hydrated during and after the session. Drink water before and after to replace fluids lost through sweating.
- After your sauna session, once you return home, you may take a cool shower to cleanse your body and close your pores. Some people also follow up with a brief rest to allow their bodies to return to normal temperature gradually.
Potential Benefits:
- Detoxification: Sweating helps eliminate toxins from the body.
- Relaxation:The heat promotes muscle relaxation and stress reduction.
- Improved Circulation: Infrared heat may enhance blood flow.
- Pain Relief: Some users report relief from chronic pain conditions.
- Skin Health: Infrared saunas may contribute to clearer, healthier skin.
Note:
Individual experiences with far infrared saunas can vary. It's essential to consult with a healthcare professional, especially if you have pre-existing health conditions, before incorporating sauna sessions into your routine. Pregnant individuals and those with certain medical conditions, such as epilepsy and uncontrolled high blood pressure should avoid saunas altogether.
