Purple Tourmaline is also known as Rubellite, and Red Tourmaline. Tourmaline is available in many colours, and not every Pink or Red Tourmaline deserves to be called Rubellite, only the most saturated and vivid colours are given that name. Its colour ranges from a deep purplish pink to purplish red and will maintain its colour under different lighting. Found in Brazil, Madagascar, Mozambique, Nigeria and Pakistan. Rubellite is the most prized and expensive Tourmaline because of its beauty and rarity.
