Sugilite is a rare pink to purple crystal that was first discovered in Japan, in 1944 and was named by the discoverer Dr. Ken-ichi Sugi. It is also found in Canada and Africa, Africa being the main source of the rich Violet to Purple specimens. Sugilite is very rarely found as a small prismatic crystal, it is usually opaque, pale pink through violet and dark purple, almost black. 

A most beautiful and powerful crystal of the Violet Ray energy, Sugilite is a high vibrating gemstone that opens the Third Eye and brings wisdom.
