Sugilite is a rare pink to purple crystal that was first discovered in Japan, in 1944 and was named by the discoverer Dr. Ken-ichi Sugi. It is also found in Canada and Africa, Africa being the main source of the rich Violet to Purple specimens. Sugilite is very rarely found as a small prismatic crystal, it is usually opaque, pale pink through violet and dark purple, almost black. 

A most beautiful and powerful crystal of the Violet Ray energy, Sugilite is said to be a high vibrating gemstone that opens the Third Eye and brings wisdom. Some believe that it carries a loving energy of the highest form of love, that encourages one to live in ones’ own truth.

Wearing and working with Sugilite is said to increase ones’ ability to channel the high vibrating Violet Ray. Violet Ray being the highest vibrating colour known to man, no low vibrating energy can exists within it.
